Scaly Breasted Munia

Scaly Breasted Munia
It fled and landed in front of me making call, totally unprepared swung into action to capture the above frame(first). As I made the image it was unseen as it flew on to the twig of a plant, was able to get its back posture in the form of second frame.

Triplets

Spot Billed Ducks
Watching these 3 ducks together was such a bliss at Karanji Mysore; as they squashed, waddled and swam to glory. Weren't they enjoying the time, truly!!

Green Bee Eater - A Portrait

Green Bee Eater - Portrait
Green Bee Eater is one amongst the colorful birds I always wished to capture, as I was walking down the woods suddenly spotted it out of camouflagers. It was right in front of me, immediately positioned myself to get this portrayal.

Weaver Birds

Baya Weaver Bird (Male)

Baya Weaver Bird (Female)
Picking, stitching and preening its nest with utmost care is a Weaver Bird, the way it picks up the right straw/paddy-leaves/coarse-grass and stitches each one with its beak is impeccable and absolute delight to watch. As observed the chief architect of the bottle-jar shape nests are male Weaver Birds, while the female weaver bird usually feeds the young ones.

As I stood beside the nests, the mother bird fetched the food for the younger ones and with whisking fast enters the tunnel of the bottle-jar shape nest to reach the young ones.

Chinese Fan

Green Bee Eater - Fanning Out

I have always enjoyed the quirk-fly of a Bee Eater to catch its prey, the outcome a beautiful fan-out of the wings so pleasant and attractive. Always feel like watching it again and again. I was so desperately looking forward to capture such a fan-outing action since my last outing at field. This not so long-lasting-wish was accomplished on Saturday with this beauty fanning out and pushing in air, but this time was fast enough to anticipate its move :D.
